10.02.08 VP Debate Viewing Party between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin at the SF LGBT Center

(San Francisco) On October 2, 2008 activelyOUT hosted a Vice Presidential Debate viewing party at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center in conjunction with Center Women Present and The Center. The event, held in the Rainbow Room, was filled to capacity with well over 80 people in attendance. The mood was festive as viewers from all walks of life openly responded to remarks and (winks) of both parties. Free wine was donated by activelyOUT.com. As anticipated, this debate became one for the history books reaching an audience of 70 million people, the second-largest TV audience for any presidential or vice presidential debate since Nielsen started counting the number of persons watching debates in 1976. The debate was also spoofed on NBC’s SNL starring our favorite Palin look-a-like, Tina Fey. You can watch the SNL skit at NBC.com.

If you watched the debate either with us or on your own please feel free to leave your comments.
